ABUJA—Justice Abubakar Sadiq Umar of an Abuja High Court sitting in Maitama, yesterday, threatened to hands off the trial of two Lebanese contractors charged to court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, following their alleged involvement in the forgery of documents belonging to the Ministry of Interior.
Jihad Mohammad Ghraizi and his son, Mohammad Ghraizi, are answering to a 14-count criminal charge preferred against them by the anti-graft agency.
The duo were alleged to have used forged documents from the Ministry of Interior to fraudulently secure 60% shares of one Madeni Construction Company Limited, contrary to sections 97, 363 and 364 of the Penal Code Cap 532 (LFN, Abuja) 1990.
At the resumed hearing of the case yesterday, counsel to the accused persons, S.I Ameh, SAN, informed the court that operatives of the EFCC, last week, attempted to forcefully eject them out of the country.
