Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation, Barrister Chris Green dismissed fears yesterday that the Committee were under pressure to appoint Samson Siasia ahead of Stephen Keshi.

“There is no pressure from anywhere to appoint anybody. Whoever we appointed merited it. There is no pressure from anybody”, Green said. There were insinuations that some highly placed Nigerians threw their weight behind Siasia and made their feelings known to the Nigeria Football Federation. But Green dismissed such talks as rumour.
