AKURE—THE immediate past governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Agagu, is set to clash with one of his ex-aides, the former Chairman of the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Princess Oladunni Odu, over the Senatorial seat in the Southern district area of the state.

Already, underground work is in progress for the eventual declaration of the former governor senatorial ambition even as about 400 PDP women across the senatorial district have thrown their weight behind the ambition of Princess Odu.

The women leaders in the six local government areas that made up the senatorial district based their decision on the fact that the zone had never been represented by a woman.

In a resolution signed by Mrs Ebibai Ijoebi, Taiwo Ayebo, Olayeni Iriyemi, Abiodun Oki Adejayan, Patricia Managha Ogboi and Beatrice Arikawe on behalf of PDP women leaders in the zone, said “Princess Odu is competent and merit the position she is aspiring to.”

They said the former Chairman of SUBEB “is very passionate about what affects the state, particularly the district and will perform creditably well if given the opportunity to represent the zone in the upper legislative arm.”
