A STAFF of Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilization,(CBAAC), Dr. Taiwo Oladokun has been awarded the 2010 University of London Post- doctoral Fellowship in African Studies. Based in the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) of the University, the fellowship will give Dr. Oladokun the opportunity of furthering his research at SOAS for the next three months.

The fellowship, a research co-operation between Leventis Foundation and Centre of African Studies of the University, is designed to support Nigerian academics to explore the various aspects of African Studies. While at SOAS, Dr. Oladokun will be completing his research on ‘Mainstreaming Ifa Worship Through Television in South- Western Nigeria’ which he initiated.

In addition, he will be made an Associate Member of the Centre of African Studies during the all academic year 2010/2011, thus incorporating him into the academic community of Africanists in the University of London. He will also attend a wide range of seminars and do some seminar presentations about his research.

Dr. Oladokun, an Assistant Director at CBAAC, holds a PhD in Media Arts from the University of Ibadan.
