CONSULAR-GENERAL in Lagos, Chinese Embassy, Chao Xiaoliang has expressed satisfaction at the relationship between Nigeria and China as this year marks 47th anniversary of the two countries’ diplomatic relations which according to him has culminated into the trade volume accruing to $14 billion between the two nations as at 2017.

He said this yesterday at the opening ceremony of Chinese language training programme for Nigerian Immigration officials held at University of Lagos.

Xiaoliang lauded the joint efforts of the two countries, which have yielded fruitful achievements from friendly and mutually beneficial co-operation in all fields.

According to him, more and more investment from China come to Nigeria while exchange between the two countries becomes  more frequent.

He remarked that Nigerian Immigration Service issued more than 14,000 visas to Chinese citizens, which recorded the third among all the foreign countries.

“This Chinese language training programme is aiming to teach Nigerian immigration officials some daily expressions of Chinese language, in order to improve the communication between Chinese citizens and Nigerian immigration officials,” he said.
