Newly elected president of the Nigeria Olympic Committee, Sanni Ndanusa is yet to reach New Delhi for the Commonwealth Games.

And so in his absence, former president of the NOC, Habu Gumel has taken over his role. Gumel was seen bouncing all over the weightlifting venue, where Augustina Nwaokolo won the first gold medal of the Commonwealth Games.

Gumel was beaming with smiles and giving back slaps to coaches and weightlifting federation of Nigeria officials. He was in a lively mood better than three weeks ago when he and others engaged in a rat race for the NOC chair.
Meanwhile NOC staffers on ground here in New Delhi said that they are expecting cool running Ndanusa to land any day from now and perhaps Gumel will fizzle out.
