GENERAL Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has again stressed the need for Christians to be agents of change in their various communities.

According to him, the world would be a better place for all if Christians would  function as the salt of the earth and the light of the world through their good works, presence and activities.

Pastor Adeboye made the admonition during the monthly thanksgiving and special prayer for mothers, intending mothers, single mothers, pregnant women, widows and their families at the RCCG Headquarters, Throne of Grace, Ebute-Metta, Lagos.

In a sermon titled: ‘Joy of Many Generations’, the cleric noted that life was too short for one to be an agent of sorrow to others.

He stressed that Christians as light in the world of darkness ought to replicate all the good works that Christ did while He was on earth and win souls into God’s Kingdom, adding that it will be disheartening for any believer not to fulfil his or her God’s ordained purpose while on earth

In his words: “It is a great thing that you are in a house, office or church and because of you, such places are blessed. There are some people, if they travelled from their compound or office nobody will notice because they are not a blessing to their neighbours.

“You have to be more aggressive in preaching the gospel to others and by doing this, you will be joy to many generations. You are not in the world by accident,  God created you for a purpose and it will be dangerous if you die without fulfilling such purpose. Time is too short, do not die without fulfilling the purpose of God for your life. You are created to be joy to many generations,” he emphasized.

Condemning incessant shedding of blood in parts of the country, the Assistant General Overseer on Admin. & Personnel, Pastor Johnson Odesola said: “It is not good to shed blood of men, women, innocent children as it has been going on in the North regardless of reasons behind the carnage.

“If we know the consequence upon the nation and those responsible for the heinous crime of killing human beings created in the image of God, those perpetrating such evil would have known that God Himself condemns the act of killing fellow human beings,” he said.

Odesola then called on those in charge of security to be faithful and do their duty which borders on securing lives and properties.
