Examtice, a Nigerian digital examination-preparation platform, is expanding access to practice tests, computer-based test simulations and performance-tracking tools for students, job seekers and professionals preparing for academic, recruitment and professional examinations.
The platform, developed by Iris Tech & Media Ltd, offers examination practice resources through its website, www.examtice.com, and mobile applications available on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
According to the company, Examtice is designed to help learners practise independently, assess their performance and identify areas requiring further study.
The platform covers examinations including the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), National Examinations Council (NECO) and Post-UTME.
Its listed categories also include Nigerian Defence Academy entrance examinations, Federal Road Safety Corps recruitment tests, military recruitment examinations, civil and public service assessments, and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) examinations.
The range of resources is intended to serve secondary-school students, university applicants, graduates, job seekers and professionals pursuing additional qualifications.
Users can take practice tests and, where available, timed simulations designed to familiarise them with computer-based examinations. The platform also provides question reviews and explanations to help learners revisit mistakes and improve their understanding of challenging topics.
Performance Tracking and Learning Support
Examtice also features performance-monitoring tools that provide reports on scores, accuracy, questions answered and progress over time, according to its website and user guide.
The information can help learners identify weaker subjects and topics and focus their revision accordingly. Users can also save questions and practice sessions for later review.
The platform’s examination mode supports timed practice intended to replicate aspects of formal assessments.
For teachers and parents, Examtice offers a learning management system that allows tests to be assigned to students and their performance monitored through assessment reports.
The effectiveness of these features, however, depends on the accuracy of the examination content, the quality of feedback and learners’ consistent use of the available resources.
Parent Company’s Education Technology Plans
Examtice is the flagship in-house product of Iris Tech & Media Ltd, a Nigerian technology company involved in software engineering, digital product development and media solutions.
The company is also pursuing other education technology initiatives, including Iris Institute and Iris Learn.
Iris Institute is being developed as a school management system initially intended for early-years, primary and secondary schools, while Iris Learn is planned as a digital learning platform offering curriculum-based lessons, quizzes and progressive assessments.
The initiatives are intended to address different aspects of education, including school administration, learning and examination preparation.
For Examtice, the company’s stated priorities include expanding its examination resources, attracting more users and building relationships with schools and educators.
It also plans to strengthen the platform’s presence in Nigeria before exploring opportunities in other African markets.
Digital examination-preparation tools can provide learners with additional opportunities to practise and assess their knowledge outside conventional classrooms. However, they are intended to complement, rather than replace, effective teaching, comprehensive study and official examination guidelines.
