BENIN CITY — The National Industrial Court of Nigeria (NICN), sitting in Benin City, Edo State, has fixed October 29, 2026, for further proceedings in a suit filed by Dr Oloko Oladele Olaitan, against the Governing Council of the National Institute of Construction Technology and Management, Uromi, Edo State.
The matter, with suit number NICN/BENIN/47/2023, is scheduled for the adoption of four court processes filed by the claimant before Justice A. A. Adewemimo.
The processes include a mandamus counter-order filed on December 29, 2025; an interlocutory counter-order filed on June 4, 2026; a mandatory counter-order filed on October 12, 2026; and an application for amendment, also filed on October 12, 2026.
Following the adoption of the processes, the court is expected to determine the next steps in the proceedings, including fixing a date for its pronouncements on the pending applications.
The suit concerns a dispute between Oloko and the institute’s Governing Council over the authenticity of appointments to the substantive rector position and the Chief Lecturer position in the Department of Business Administration and Management, as they relate to the pre-labour dispute.
