The Democratic Youth Assembly of Nigeria (DYAN) has congratulated Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, on his re-election, describing the outcome as a reflection of the confidence and trust placed in his administration by the people of the state.

In a statement, the youth group said Adeleke’s victory represented a renewed mandate to consolidate his administration’s efforts towards good governance, inclusive development and the delivery of democratic dividends to the people of Osun State.

DYAN said the second-term mandate had placed a greater responsibility on Adeleke to deepen his commitment to the welfare of the people, strengthen institutions and ensure that governance remained people-centred, transparent and accountable.

The organisation also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what it described as allowing democracy to prevail and creating an environment for the people of Osun State to freely exercise their constitutional right to choose their leaders.

According to DYAN, the peaceful conduct of the electoral process and respect for the will of the electorate were important steps towards strengthening Nigeria’s democratic institutions.

The group urged political actors across the country to continue to prioritise national interest above partisan considerations, stressing that the sustenance of democracy required the collective commitment of all stakeholders.

DYAN further called on Adeleke to regard his re-election not merely as a political victory but as a renewed call to service and a responsibility to justify the confidence reposed in him by the electorate.

The organisation wished the governor a successful second term and called on stakeholders in Osun State to unite in promoting peace, good governance, development and democratic progress.
