The Elect Kadir Obafemi Hamzat, E-KOH, Initiative has commenced the mobilisation of five Polling Unit Champions in every polling unit across Lagos West Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The initiative, which was launched on Saturday at the E-KOH Lagos West Senatorial District Inaugural Meeting held at the Ojo Local Government Secretariat, Lagos, is aimed at deepening grassroots engagement and building a formidable mobilisation structure ahead of the elections.

The meeting brought together members of the E-KOH State Executive Council, led by the Director General, Liberty Badmus, political stakeholders, local government chairmen, party leaders and coordinators from the 28 local government areas and Local Council Development Areas, LCDAs, in Lagos West Senatorial District.

Declaring the mobilisation drive, the Director of E-KOH Lagos West, Ashade Abdulsalam Abiodun, charged the 28 coordinators to immediately begin the recruitment of five Polling Unit Champions in each polling unit within their respective councils.

Ashade said the strategy was designed to establish a strong grassroots network capable of engaging voters, mobilising support and strengthening the political structure of the initiative ahead of the 2027 elections.

He urged the coordinators to remain committed to the assignment, stressing that the success of the initiative would depend largely on effective grassroots mobilisation and sustained engagement with voters across the senatorial district.

The mobilisation is targeted at securing support for the re-election of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as well as the election of Dr. Kadir Obafemi Hamzat and Princess Damilola Sonayon James in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking at the meeting, the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Social Development called on members of the initiative to intensify their engagement with the electorate, particularly by reaching out to new voters and residents who are not members of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

He urged members to look beyond existing party structures and deliberately engage new voters in order to expand the support base of the party ahead of the elections.

The commissioner stressed the need for commitment, dedication and strategic mobilisation, saying sustained grassroots engagement would be critical to securing overwhelming electoral victories for Dr. Kadir Obafemi Hamzat and other APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.

Also speaking, the Honourable Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hon. Sule Tolani, analysed previous election results across Lagos West Senatorial District and outlined strategies for improving voter turnout and strengthening the party’s performance in the 2027 elections.

Tolani’s presentation focused on the need for the initiative to identify areas of weakness in previous elections and develop practical strategies to improve voter mobilisation and participation at the polling-unit level.

The Senator representing Lagos West Senatorial District, Dr. Idiat Oluranti Adebule, was represented at the meeting by Hon. Sanni Muiz, while the APC House of Representatives candidate, Hon. Bolaji Kayode Robert, was also represented.

Hon. Abu Kehinde represented Hon. Ege Olusegun Adebisi, Member representing Ojo Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, while Hon. Tijani Surajudeen Olatunji was equally represented.

The meeting was hosted by the Executive Chairman of Ojo Local Government, Hon. Princess Muhibat Titilola Rufai, while the Executive Chairmen of Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area, Hon. Kareem Azeez Abiodun, and Iba Local Council Development Area, Hon. Yisa Jubril Abiola, served as co-hosts.

At the end of the meeting, members and stakeholders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening grassroots mobilisation and securing massive electoral support for Dr. Kadir Obafemi Hamzat, Princess Damilola Sonayon James, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

The vote of thanks was delivered by the Chief of Staff to the Executive Chairman of Ojo Local Government, Comrade Wale Smart, who appreciated participants for their commitment and urged them to sustain the momentum of mobilisation across Lagos West and Lagos State.
