ABIGBORODO — The Alema of Warri, Chief Emmanuel Oritsejolomi Uduaghan, has dissociated himself from comments attributed to him in an online publication concerning Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
In a statement issued in Abigborodo, Uduaghan said he did not grant any interview or make any statement on the matter referenced in the publication.
According to him, the comments were incorrectly attributed to him.
“I have so much respect for the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu. I also know her importance in the country,” Uduaghan said.
He stressed the importance of accuracy and verification in news reporting, stating that he had no involvement in the comments attributed to him.
Uduaghan called for a correction to ensure that the record accurately reflects his position.
He also reaffirmed his respect for the First Lady and urged media organisations to uphold professional standards of accuracy, fairness and responsible journalism.
The traditional chief said he considered it important that public statements be properly sourced and attributed to avoid misunderstandings.
He reiterated that he was not connected to the remarks attributed to him and maintained that any reports suggesting otherwise did not reflect his views.
