Oyo 2027: Kareem moves to secure ticket, rallies grassroots structure

Governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Adewale Kolapo Kareem, has formally intensified his bid for the party’s 2027 ticket, declaring full readiness to enter the race as internal processes gather momentum.

In a statement made available to journalists, the Ibadan born politician said he is prepared to purchase the party’s nomination and expression of interest forms in line with the timetable released by the APC national secretariat, describing the move as “a natural progression of my long-standing engagement with the grassroots.”

“I stand at the threshold of a historic commitment,” he said. “I wish to state, with absolute clarity and resolve, that I am fully prepared to proceed with the purchase of the gubernatorial nomination forms.”

The aspirant noted that his campaign structure across the 33 local government areas of Oyo State had been fully activated, with resources strategically aligned to meet all institutional requirements.

“My engine is fully at work, and our campaign remains the gold standard for preparedness and intent,” he added.

Kareem emphasised his commitment to internal democracy within the APC, stressing that consultation and consensus-building remain critical to the party’s success.

“I am a democrat to the core. Internal consensus and open dialogue are not alternatives to competition; they are sophisticated democratic tools that strengthen our party,” he said.

While expressing confidence in his chances, the aspirant also pledged loyalty to party leadership and decisions. “I remain a loyal party man who respects the institutional compass of our leadership, especially where strategic decisions are made for the greater good of the progressive family,” he stated.

Calling on his supporters to intensify mobilisation, Kareem urged party faithful to remain focused in the coming days. “The hour of mobilisation is here. Remain vigilant, organised, and high-spirited. Our movement is built on conviction, not convenience,” he said.
