An All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship aspirant in Ogun State, Abayomi Hunye, has thrown his weight behind Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola following his emergence as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

Hunye’s endorsement comes on the heels of the declaration by Governor Dapo Abiodun at the APC Strategic Caucus Meeting held at the party’s secretariat in Abeokuta, where Adeola was unanimously adopted as the party’s flagbearer.

Reacting to the development, Hunye congratulated Adeola, describing his emergence as a reflection of the collective decision of the party leadership.

“I extend my congratulations to him and wish him the very best,” Hunye said. “I am equally grateful to the state and national leaders of our great party for the privilege of taking part in the nomination process.”
The aspirant pledged total loyalty to the party’s decision, affirming his commitment to work for the success of the APC in the forthcoming election.

“Consequent upon these developments, I hereby support the decision of the party and declare my support to ensure the party wins at the forthcoming election,” he stated.

Hunye also expressed appreciation to his supporters across Ogun State, assuring them that their trust and steadfastness would not be taken for granted.

“My heartfelt thanks is to God and all my supporters across Ogun State. Your patience, steadfast support and solid trust in me will not be taken for granted,” he added.

Adeola, who represents Ogun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, is expected to lead the All Progressives Congress into the 2027 governorship contest as the party intensifies preparations ahead of the polls.
