Johnnie Walker AfroExchange backs Afro-house momentum in Lagos

Johnnie Walker AfroExchange

Johnnie Walker AfroExchange has continued to build a visible presence in Lagos’ growing Afro-house scene, using music and creative collaboration to connect audiences across the continent.

Since its introduction in 2025, the platform has brought together musicians, artists, DJs and cultural commentators through a series of events designed to celebrate African creativity and encourage exchange between creative communities.

Johnnie Walker AfroExchange is a cultural platform inspired by the brand’s Keep Walking ethos. It brings together creative voices across borders through music, fashion, food and art, creating space for collaboration between the people and ideas shaping contemporary African culture. The platform highlights the energy and influence of African creativity while connecting scenes across the continent.

The platform first launched in Lagos last year with a cultural send-off that introduced Nigerian creatives Bnxn, Dope Caesar and Saga as Johnnie Walker AfroExchange ambassadors. The event gathered artists, media and culture insiders at Trib3 Lagos to celebrate the connection between Lagos and Johannesburg ahead of the inaugural showcase in South Africa.

Through music performances, conversation and visual installations, the evening reflected the spirit behind the platform. Guests experienced the growing dialogue between Afrobeats and Amapiano while creators shared perspectives on collaboration and the importance of representing Nigerian creativity on a broader African stage.

Since November 2025, Johnnie Walker has expanded the platform’s presence in Lagos through collaborations with Element House, one of the city’s fastest-growing electronic music gatherings. These editions have drawn thousands of attendees and placed Afro-house at the centre of the experience, reflecting the genre’s rising influence across African nightlife and global dance music culture.

Element House editions powered by Johnnie Walker AfroExchange have featured a growing roster of international and African talent including Francis Mercier, Vanco, Masšh and Lemon and Herb. Their performances have brought Lagos audiences into the wider Afro-house movement while highlighting the musical exchange taking place between scenes across Africa.

The next edition of Johnnie Walker AfroExchange will return to Element House on 17 April at Landmark Centre, Victoria Island. The lineup includes South African artist Naak, Nigerian-American electronic producer Eli Fola and South African DJ Merlon, continuing the platform’s focus on connecting audiences through Afro-house and electronic sounds.

Through this platform, Johnnie Walker continues to support the creative networks shaping contemporary African culture. By creating space for artists, DJs and audiences to connect, AfroExchange highlights how collaboration between cities and creative communities is helping to shape the future of music and culture across the continent.
