They have contributed significantly to moral guardians, peaceful coexistence and community development in our nation. In the face of social and economic challenges, the role of the church as a moral compass cannot be overstated.
“As a cosmopolitan state, we will continue to uphold religious tolerance, harmony and mutual respect. Faith based organisations remain indispensable partners in governance, social stability and grassroots development.
“We have strengthened security architecture in the state. The partnership between the government and the Church remain vital to bring about inclusive prosperous and resilience society. I am committed to providing a safe and enabling environment for religious activities to thrive.
“We know that except the Lord build a house the labourer labour in vain and except the Lord watches over a city of Lagos, the watchmen stay awake in vain. We welcome deeper collaboration with the C&S unification Church in promoting community development social cohesion peace-buildying and moral regeneration across Lagos state and beyond.”
Earlier, the Supreme head of C&S Unification Church of Nigeria, Prophet Emmanuel Adewale Alogbo, urged government at all levels to pursue policies that supports true federalism, economic prosperity and social justice so that Nigeria can move forward as one indivisible nation.
He said, “We strongly condemn killings of citizens on their own soil by bandits and irregular military forces.
” As a church we cannot be silent observers. We must continue to pray fervently for our leaders, while also speaking truth with courage, moderation and love. Nigeria remains a circular state and our unity depends on fairness inclusion and respect for diversity.
“Any action that threatens this balance must be addressed with wisdom and restraint in the interest of peace and national stability. True development cannot thrive where corruption is tolerated. Governance is expensive and accountability is weak.”
