…as Experts Urge educators to embrace Coaching, technology for Greater Impact

Education experts have urged teachers to leverage technological innovations and several other digital resources to improve their competencies, thereby increasing their chances of relevance.
The call was made at the Teachers Fest 2025 organized by Coachfrika on the theme “Empowering educators for impact through coaching and technology” held in Abeokuta on Saturday.
The founder of Coachfrika, Afeez Iyiola, in his opening remarks, highlighted the significance of the theme of the Fest in this 21st century driven by technology and the urgent need for adjustments and skills for relevance.
He attributed that technology is a game changer, and a lot of things can be learned through technology, stressing that there are diverse ways teachers can make education more interesting.
Speaking further, Afeez stressed the support of Orange Corners Nigeria in driving this new phase of Coachfrika development.
While introducing the teachers to Coachfrika’s edtech platform, the CEO emphasized that teachers who subscribe will experience a transformative shift in their educational journey.
“We believe that when teachers grow, education improves. This platform gives them access to continuous learning, expert coaching, remote teaching opportunities, and a supportive community to help them thrive in and beyond the classroom,” Afeez said.
The platform features a range of tools, including coaching sessions, resource libraries, collaboration forums, access to remote teaching opportunities, and access to innovative teaching methodologies tailored for 21st-century classrooms.
It also offers tools to track student progress and provides teachers with opportunities for remote teaching, enabling them to earn more while expanding their impact.
Delivering the keynote address, Solanke Francis Taiwo, the 2025 best teacher in Nigeria, from Ansar-Udeen Main School, Abeokuta, Ogun State, underscored the need for teachers to integrate technology into their teaching practices to maintain relevance in a rapidly evolving educational landscape.

“They are expected to inspire, lead, and adapt. To do this effectively, they must embrace innovation and make smart use of technology in their teaching,” he added.
The Microsoft Innovative expert noted that the future of education depended on how effectively educators adapt to technological advancements and leverage them to enhance learning outcomes.
In her address, the Ogun State Director of Education, Quality Assurance, Mrs. Duze Aminat Mary highlighted that beyond classroom instruction, teachers require ongoing professional development, coaching, mentorship, and access to digital tools to remain effective in today’s dynamic learning environment, adding that Coachfrika is one of the best platforms teachers can tap from.
“Teachers are not just facilitators of learning. They are nation builders. Without consistent support and investment in their growth, we risk stagnating the progress of our education sector.”
