The National Association of Political Science Students (NAPSS) on Saturday declared its support for the Senator, representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, to vie for the governorship seat of the state, calling on the leadership of the State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to unanimously give him the party’s gubernatorial ticket in 2027.
The association’s President, Florence Badejo, who disclosed this at a press conference in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, cited the track record of Senator Adeola as reason for the support.
According to Badejo, Senator Adeola’s track record of achievements in governance, competence, compassion and consistency are some of our reasons for the endorsement.
She described Senator Adeola’s leadership style as embodying the principles of true democracy and expressed the believe of the association that his vision and leadership would drive progress and development in the State and Nigeria as a whole.
According to her, “the pursuit of a more prosperous and equitable society requires visionary leadership, purposeful direction, discipline and a commitment to continuity.
“As scholars of Political Science and stakeholders, we are trained in the philosophies of governance, public policy, purposeful leadership and nation-building”.
“Today, we rise as citizens, lovers of Ogun State and Nigeria, also custodians of tomorrow, unanimously endorsing a leader whose track records speak of his achievements in governance, competence, compassion, and consistency; Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola. His leadership embodies the principles of true democracy that we explore in our lecture halls and bring to life in our various communities”
“We believe that Senator Adeola’s vision and leadership will drive progress and development in our state and nation. It will reposition our dear state in the committee of states in Nigeria. As scholars and patriotic citizens, we pledge our support for his initiatives and endeavours. We will give every support to the cause of his emergence, and climbing the podium of leadership in our state”.
Badejo also expressed gratitude to Hon. Akeem Oluseye, who she described as a philanthropist and builder of men, for his continued contributions to student welfare, affirming that he is a beacon of hope to students and a leader who can be emulated.
