Citisquare Africa, Rwanda Chamber of Tourism conclude virtual conference on investment, tourism growth

Citisquare Africa, in partnership with the Rwanda Chamber of Tourism, has concluded a virtual conference, “The Collective Advantage: Investment and Tourism in Kigali, Rwanda”, held on 22 July 2025.

The conference focused on how co-ownership investment models are enabling individuals and groups to participate in Kigali’s real estate and tourism sectors with low capital entry points.

More than 100 participants from Africa and the diaspora attended the session, which explored how legally structured co-ownership frameworks can support economic inclusion by allowing investors to co-own titled property, build wealth, and participate in Rwanda’s growing tourism industry. The event was supported by Bank of Kigali PLC and BK Capital.

The session was moderated by Lehlé Baldé and featured speakers across finance, tourism, and investment. Speakers included Dr Uche Nnama, Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Citisquare Africa; Dr Peggy McColl, Mindset Mentor and keynote speaker; Dr Diane Karusisi, Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Kigali; Darius Mukiza, Head of Business Development at BK Capital; Vinay Palaparthy, Global Business Leader; Irene Murerwa, Chief Tourism Officer at the Rwanda Development Board; Ronald Kabagambe, Investment Marketing Lead at the Rwanda Development Board; and Edson Habineza, Director General of the Rwanda Chamber of Tourism.

A key theme was the development of a “prosperity mindset”, where prosperity is viewed beyond money to include collaboration and intentional impact. Dr McColl noted, “Life begins with a thought of inspiration. Prosperity isn’t just financial, it’s a state of mind.”

Attendees gained insights into how co-ownership legally facilitates investment in titled land and real estate, how to generate passive income and capital growth in Kigali’s property market, the structure and institutional backing of the Citisquare Africa co-ownership model, investment opportunities in eco-tourism, cultural travel, wellness tourism, and property, as well as why Rwanda’s tourism economy is recognised for innovation and sustainability, with Kigali attracting over 1.3 million tourists annually and generating $647 million in tourism revenue.

Dr Nnama said, “Co-ownership is a model that helps you diversify your portfolio. It’s a tool to democratise access to opportunity.”

The conference also introduced the Co-Ownership, Investment, and Tourism Forum scheduled for 1–6 October 2025 in Kigali. The in-person event will bring together investors, tourism experts, policy leaders, and development partners for panels, workshops, site visits, and networking.

Participants were invited to join the Colours of Well-being Community, a Citisquare Africa network for investors and professionals focused on investment and wellness. The community provides access to opportunities, co-ownership education, and curated experiences.
