After months of structured evaluation and adherence to statutory procedures, the Governing Council of Nigeria Maritime University has approved the appointment of Professor Flora Oluwafemi as Vice-Chancellor.
This decision was the outcome of a transparent and competitive process involving twelve applicants. A six-member committee interviewed six shortlisted candidates on June 17, after initial screenings disqualified six others based on age and qualification criteria.
Professor Oluwafemi, a microbiologist with extensive academic and administrative experience, was declared most suitable, scoring 78.4% in the interviews.
The announcement was made by Mr. Abdullahi Bardi, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, who stressed that fairness and objectivity guided every stage of the process.
