Igbo Ezue, comprising indigenes of the five South Eastern States resident in Ika land explained that their visit was necessitated by the need to formally familiarise themselves with the NDDC boss especially as the group recently elected new executives.

According to media aide to the NDDC ‘s Chair , Mr Jerome Mario-Utomi, in a statement ,   the group noted that, apart from Ebie’s inspiring leadership style and unprecedented infrastructural developments he has attracted to Ika land, they were further attracted to Ebie because of his maternal connection to Anambra state.

“We have come to visit Barrister Ebie who is part of us, by virtue of the fact that his mother is from Oba in Anambra state.

“We just had an election and swore in a new executive. So we are here to visit the chairman of NDDC who is part of us, in the sense that his mother hails from Oba in Anambra state. We are here to see our son, our brother, our sister’s child, who is also our leader and chairman of NDDC’’, the group said.

Led on the visit by some prominent elders and notable members of the group such as, the immediate past president of Igbo-Ezue, DR. UGHAMADU, Kenneth  Azubuike, the newly elected president, Chief Jude Ezeji, Ohamadike1, and Sir Francis Ifeanyi Okechukwu, an elder and notable member of the association, the group praised Mr. Ebie’s inclusive leadership style and pledged their loyalty and unalloyed support to him.

Continuing, Igbo Ezue members stressed that they  came to pledge their loyalty, support and more particularly thank Mr. Ebie for all the good things that he has been doing in Ika Federal Constituency, the whole of Delta state and Niger Delta region in general.

“We are also using  the opportunity provided by this visit to notify our son, who was the Delta state Commissioner for Basic and Secondary education and former Secretary to the state Government (SSG),  that we are building a hall here in Agbor and will appreciate whatever way we can partner with NDDC, we are always available. Whatever you want us to do, call on us and we will answer you without delay.

Responding, Barrister Ebie thanked them for the visit, and appreciated their unflinching support, noting that group was not new to him.
