The African Export-Import Bank has sealed a partnership deal with the Creative, Reality, Entertainment, Arts and Music (C.R.E.A.M.) Platform, a network of cultural and creative enterprises owned by popular Nigerian musician Dapo Oyebanjo, a.k.a. D’banj.
The Afreximbank, through its Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX), acquired equity in the platform owned by D’banj.
The deal was formalised in a ceremony in Nigeria’s political capital, Abuja, on Thursday on the sidelines of the Afreximbank AGM held in Abuja.
The collaboration is a win-win for both CANEX and C.R.E.A.M. Platform, which is a digital platform that was created to give back to society through talent discovery, content monetisation and artistic expressions.
C.R.E.A.M. is a platform for talent discovery and helping young creatives find a platform and necessary industry connections.
The music tech platform provides creative minds with unique 360-degree offerings, including recording a standard song, shooting a standard video, collaborating with an artiste of their choice (music or video), and showcasing talent.
Afreximbank, having recognised the relevance and opportunities provided by the creative economy as a key driver for development and job creation, established the Creative Africa Nexus programme (CANEX) to support the development of Africa’s creative and cultural industries and address some of the challenges faced by this economy through the provision of access to finance, capacity building, trade, investment and export promotion, access to new market opportunities, digital solutions, and policy advocacy to fast-track the scaling of Africa’s creative sectors within the global economy.
