Dean Jung Min Kim didn’t set out to disrupt finance with code. He set out to solve a deeply human problem: how to send money to someone you love, in a way that feels as effortless as saying, “I’ve got you.”
That single idea—sending ETH to his mother with one message and having her instantly spend it—sparked the creation of FacilPay, a next-generation financial platform where payments happen through natural language. No apps to toggle. No QR codes. Just intent and execution.
Kim, a Korean-American entrepreneur with a background in telecom (T-Mobile, Sprint, Boost Mobile) and blockchain advisory (Chain Imperium), is now pioneering intent-centric infrastructure that blends AI, messaging, and decentralized payments. FacilPay’s goal: make crypto invisible to the user—but deeply empowering underneath.
Backed by partners like Circle, IBC, Dmail, Kima and the Blockchain for Good Alliance and more. FacilPay is rolling out across Latin America and Asia, serving users who need fast, borderless financial tools—without needing to be tech-savvy. “Our goal isn’t to teach crypto,” says Kim. “It’s to make crypto so intuitive, you don’t realize you’re using it.”
In a noisy world of financial apps, Dean Kim, and his team of passionate veterans, is quietly building the one that might actually reach the people who need it most. Kim is calling on everyone who isn’t currently participating in web3 to give it a short now. He believes it’s not too late to start the exciting web3 journey through digital assets, decentralization, gamification and the totality of what the industry has to offer.
But it gets better than that. You could enjoy AI and the many benefits it has brought to humanity in recent times. You could enjoy web3 for all the ease and speed it has brought. You could enjoy chatting with your friends, family and associates as social media and the existing Web 2.0 has made it possible. However, it is indeed possible to enjoy all of these in one app, on ecosystem — FacilPay. That is what Kim is building.
From his earliest days in sales to solo business ventures and to tech startups such as Artemis Vision and the more recent FacilPay, Kim has discovered one pressing need human need: the need for ease. People are constantly looking for the easiest way to do the things they intend to do. Both in the blockchain realm and outside of it, Kim has always believed that “Intent is the real Layer 1” and he’s looking at making human intent easier.
As a result, he has spent the last five years of his career figuring out ways to eliminate complexities and long protocols in day-to-day human activities. Messaging and payment caught his attention real fast and he focused heavily on them. For him “Messaging is the new financial interface. If you can say it, you can pay it”. We watch out for what comes next as Kim’s team continues to work.
