FRSC officials rescuing accident victims.
The Plateau Command of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has advised residents of the state to adhere to traffic regulations and prioritise safety on the road.
The FRSC Sector Commander in the state, Mr Olajide Mogaji, gave the advice during a road walk to commemorate the 2025 United Nations Global World Road Safety Week, on Wednesday in Jos.
Mogaji also cautioned road users against speeding, dangerous overtaking, overloading and other traffic violations.
According to him, such practices are responsible for the rising rate of accidents in the state.
The sector commander said that all hands must be on deck tackle the spate of road traffic crashes across the country.
“We must all play our parts in making our roads safer.
“These include: obeying road signs and markings, using pedestrian facilities like overhead bridges and zebra crossings.
“We must also follow the instructions of traffic officers, FRSC officials and policemen because safety on our roads is not negotiable,” he said.
Mogaji, who decried the bad state of roads in the country, said that the situation shouldn’t be an excuse for recklessness by road users.
He called on residents of the state to support FRSC’s efforts toward ensuring safer motoring environment in the state.
