BENIN CITY – The National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) has announced plans to commence computer-based examinations for all its candidates starting in 2026.

The newly appointed Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mohammed-Aminu Mohammed, disclosed this during his resumption at the NABTEB headquarters in Benin City, where he was received by the board’s management and staff.

Dr. Mohammed emphasized his commitment to improving staff welfare, fostering a conducive work environment, and investing in capacity building. He also pledged to align NABTEB’s initiatives with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes technical education for national development and economic growth.

“As Registrar of NABTEB, I am committed to aligning our efforts with this vision, ensuring that our programs and initiatives contribute to the realization of this noble goal,” he stated.

Dr. Mohammed highlighted the board’s plans to accelerate the digitization of its examination processes, from registration to result processing and certificate issuance. He noted that this shift would: Minimize human errors, Reduce processing time, and Enhance the overall efficiency of NABTEB’s operations.

He further assured that advanced security measures would be implemented to safeguard examination materials and processes. These measures include:

Biometric verification,

Encrypted question papers, and

Real-time monitoring systems to prevent malpractice.

Staff Welfare and Growth

The Registrar also promised to explore available grants for technical and vocational education while ensuring that hardworking staff receive appropriate recognition and timely promotions.

Earlier, the Director of Special Duties at NABTEB, Mr. Olugbenga Ojogbede, welcomed Dr. Mohammed-Aminu Mohammed as the board’s 5th substantive Registrar and CEO.

“With your wealth of experience, vision, and dedication, we are confident that you will steer this board to even greater heights. We know the responsibilities ahead are enormous, but we trust that your passion for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and your strategic insights will help foster a fair and credible examination system,” Ojogbede said.

With these initiatives, NABTEB aims to enhance the credibility, integrity, and efficiency of its examination processes, ensuring a brighter future for technical and vocational education in Nigeria.
