A private school proprietress, Mrs. Veronica Osanakpo has charged married couples and their family members not to despair amidst economic challenges currently plaguing the nation.

In her new book titled ‘The Space Between”, which she launched recently in Onitsha, Anambra state, as part of activities marking her 64th birthday anniversary ceremony, Mrs. Osanakpo who is the Executive Director of Mount Olive Group of Schools, Onitsha, identified trust, communications and support in relationship, transformation and power of love as some of the challenges in navigating family dynamics.

According to the author, one of the takeaways from this book is the importance of setting boundaries and prioritizing self-care, especially for young wives and mothers, adding, even in the midst of challenges, we can find strength, hope and resilience”.

She expressed gratitude to loved ones, friends and well wishers for the wonderful support accorded her in her journey to write, edit and final production of the book.

She expressed the hope that the book would inspire the readers, challenge and remind them of the power of love and relationships to transform our lives, adding that they should embark on their creative journeys to pursue their passions and to never give up on their dreams.

Earlier, Chairman of the occasion, one-time Deputy Governorship candidate in Anambra state and Chief Medical Direction of Toronto Hospital, Onitsha, Prince  Dr. Emeka Eze, had outlined some factors necessary for the building of a stable home and charged married couples to cue into the factors.

According to Dr. Eze, “I feel highly elated to be here for the book launch. Contrary to the sayings that a book should not be judged by its cover, this particular book will be judged by its cover or title. Vero Osanakpo, the author of this book is a virtuous woman. A highly proficient lady and educator. She has impacted on lives of many families.

“Many family kids passed through her school and became champions educationally. Her family is very distinguished and notable by their moral rectitude. I therefore encourage everyone to go for this book and read it so as to help mould their family background.”

In his speech while launching the book with an unspecified amount of money, Spiritual Director of Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Obimma (aka Ebube Muonso), praised the author of the book for making use of the inspirational opportunity given to her to educate the populace on the need to live a fulfilled family life among married couples.

Reflecting of the extinction of writing and reading culture, Fr. Obimma declared: ‘Christ has given a marriage the benefit of a Sacrament and if any marriage is built after the mind of Christ, it must surely survive.

“Knowledge is power. There is nothing that empowers people more than knowledge and I advise that we should go back to the time of Chinua Achebes, Cyorian Ekwensis and other prolific writers and imbibe a reading culture because by learning, we become wiser.”
