Renowned celebrity fashion designer Victoria Atere, popularly known as Veekee James, has opened up about how her rising fame has significantly impacted her family, particularly her mother.

Speaking as a guest speaker at an event organized by The Liberty Church London, Veekee shared how her influence has transformed her mother’s everyday experiences.

During her session, Veekee highlighted the power of social media influence in shaping her career and personal life. She expressed gratitude for her online community, the “VJ Army,” who have been instrumental in her success.

“I have a community called the VJ Army,” she said. “If you come for me, they will come for you double. I will now have to be the one saying, ‘Please guys, can we actually chill?’ I don’t think there is anything I want that they will not do. That’s influence. It’s because I am influential on social media that I have had the opportunities and found myself in certain rooms. Who knew me before? Who knew my father, who passed away when I was five? Or my mother from Ajegunle that nobody knew?”

Veekee went on to describe how her influence has even extended to her mother’s daily life, making public transportation a challenge.

“My mum cannot enter a public bus today anymore, even if she loves to,” she shared. “No matter the level she gets to in life, she will still miss entering public transport. But she cannot enter without at least five people recognizing her and saying, ‘You’re Veekee James’ mum! I want to take a picture with you.’”
