Deluxe Link Express, a supply chain and logistics business in Nigeria, last weekend in Lagos, launched a DLE web application to enhance operational efficiency and ensure seamless logistical needs for local, international and small scale businesses.
Speaking at the event, the MD/CEO of GLE, Mr Lanre Aliu, said the inspiration behind the innovation “is that the logistics business needs to be more efficient, seamless, reliable and more transparent.”
Aliu said the company wants to bring more comfort to customers, so that from the comfort of their homes they can send things to their loved ones and business partners. “This will help small businesses to strive, grow and connect around the world.
“There is nothing as good as having a local feel to an international approach,” Aliu said,”and that is what DLE seeks to achieve.”
The MD observed that technology is both a disruptor and enhancer. “There will always be challenges. Our approach is not to focus on the challenges, but identify them and also ensure that we provide solutions to them as quickly as possible,” he said.
Also speaking, the Chief Technology Officer, Mr Daniel Ngedo, explained that once a client creates a shipment, the customer gets a tracking number which he or she can give to the receiver.”
The Director General, African Centre for Supply Chain, Dr. Obiora Madu, said, “The company is already doing well, and what we have witnessed today is an innovation. And innovation is what keeps businesses alive.”
The Group MD/CEO of Halogen Security Group, Mr. Wale Olaoye, said they came to support their “client and young Nigerians who try to bring innovation into the supply chain and logistic industry.”
The Director of Human Capital Development and Specialised Training, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, Mr Akinpelu Ayuba, said in Lagos, “with a population of over 20 million people, efficient logistics is the cornerstone of economic activity.”
Ayuba said he was “particularly impressed by DLE’S commitment to professionalism, transparency and timely service values that are integral to creating a well-functioning, efficient Lagos.”
