Amb. Chief Nzeribe Okegbue, PhD, Chairman and CEO of Combatant Guards Limited, has been nominated for the 18th Africa Security Watch Awards, organised by the esteemed Security Watch Africa.
The awards ceremony, set to take place from December 10-12, 2024, in Doha, Qatar, will honour Dr. Okegbue with the Gold Star Award for Security and Safety in Nigeria. This accolade celebrates his dedication and significant contributions to security innovation in the country.
In a letter co-signed by Security Watch Africa’s International Coordinator, Patrick Agbambu, and the Chair of the International Awards Panel, Prof. Henri Fouche, the panel acknowledged Okegbue’s longstanding impact in the security sector, recognising him as an industry leader.
In a separate tribute, Rapid Broadcasting Network Limited (RBN), a prominent Eastern broadcasting station, has also nominated Dr. Okegbue for its Rapid Personality of the Year (RAPOY) Award for 2024. RBN commended his philanthropic efforts and commitment to community service through the Nzeribe Okegbue Foundation, highlighting his contributions to security strategy and social welfare. In a letter signed by RBN’s General Manager, Sunny Ohanyere, Okegbue’s influence in combatting social challenges and fostering community upliftment was celebrated.
The foundation’s initiatives, such as the ‘Back to School’ packages, scholarship programs benefiting students in Ikwuano Local Government Area, and youth empowerment schemes, were also acknowledged. RBN described Okegbue as a role model of leadership and statesmanship, dedicated to advancing humanity and national development.
