SOKOTO: The Extractive Sector Accountability and Transparency ( YES-ACT), a Youths led consortium of Nigeria centres groups’ and activist has called on the federal government to allowed continued participation of players in the refining of Nigeria’s crude oil pending take off of  Dangote Refinery to desired capacity.

The Forum while addresing journalists on Sunday in Sokoto cautioned  against alleged sensationalization of matters bordering on the nation’s oil and gas resources,  noted that NIgeria was already tensed due to ” Mafia-like” in the oil in the Oil and Gas sector.

The forum National Convener,  Bashar Umar Binji said alleged cabals had over the years, bent on frustrating efforts and policies of successive governments.

” We are following claims and counter claims among major stakeholders, players ( private), government and othrr regulatory boadies.

The forum urged government to in the national interest, to ensure that allocation of crude oil to any concern be done on actual refining capacity at time of doing so.

“Government should ensure continued participation of other players in the refining of Nigeria crude oil pending the satisfactory take off of the newly established Dangote Refinery to the desired capacity”, says the forum.
