O Kingdom Come’ set to launch art competition

Award winning book series ‘O Kingdom Come’, which was released last year to rave reviews and critical acclaim has announced an art competition tagged ‘As Above So Below’.

Riding on the success of its release last year, the organisers seek to leverage the momentum to spotlight a critical piece of the story telling process, – the artists.

African comic book artist/creator, Adedayo Erivic, who is also founder of the Comics Archive Africa and Comic Con Ibadan said, “We are organising this art competition to select artists who can reinvent ‘O Kingdom Come’ scenes from the book and web series. Artists from across Africa and the world have a shot at emerging the best. They can participate by following the ‘O Kingdom Come’  official social media handles and website pages.”

The competition aims to spotlight incredible talents across the globe using the book and its online web series on YouTube as references to inspire their artistic style.

According to Michael Omare of 2nacheki TV, who reviewed the book, O Kingdom Come’ is “a revival in the art of storytelling”.

The winner of the competition will go home with a cash prize of $500, among other consolation gifts  Finalists will be announced on March 30 at the annual Comic Con event in Ibadan, Oyo State.
