…as ADASSAN celebrate 20th anniversary
An Islamic scholar, Professor Saheed Olurotimi Timehin has warned youths to do away with quick money making rituals, adding that it shortens life.
Prof Timehin stated this during the 20th anniversary of Aduranigba Daars Sahaadat Alasalatu of Nigeria ( ADASSAN) cum Maolud Nabbiy, at Mowe, Ogun State recently.
According to him, when he was running an Islamic program on radio, a traditional program was also been run by an elderly man, and the man was asked if there is anything like money ritual, the man said there was nothing like.
“The old man said there is no deity producing money or make one rich, its only God that can make you rich. In that case youths should be careful of what they are doing. There was also a time a young boy was caught at Ibadan with his friend skull, when asked what he wanted to used it for, he claim it was for money ritual, so as to buy a mansion at Lekki, Lagos.
“Most parents don’t have time for their children anymore, we don’t teach them our religion and morals any longer. Some parents have destroyed the lives of their children, all because they wanted them to be rich at all cost. Unfortunately, we now have Internet Fraudsters Parents Association in Nigeria.
“Prophet Muhammad said there are two ways of life for human beings, the day of happiness and the day of bitterness. We should let our children know these ways of life. Don’t think you have it today, it will be like that forever, there are time for everything.
“Majority of parents always show it to our children that it’s all well. We are only taking care of their body, we are not taken care of their spiritual life. Because of worldly things some youths now can go to any length to make money.”
He added that, parents should show their children ways of God, because a child who knows God will never go astray or do wrong things.
“We should let our children know they have to work for everything they get. Anywone who cannot endure suffering today cannot enjoy tomorrow. They are those being lured into cultism, kidnapping and other vices. We also need to teach our children our languages, instead of coercing them to speak english.”
Earlier in his welcome address, the Missioner of ADASSAN, Imam Suleiman Adigun said the event is a remarkable one as the society started in 2003 under a palmfront makeshift house, but today there is a befitting mosque and Arabia class for the students.
Imam Adigun thanked all those who have contributed to the development of ADASSAN, alive and dead and prayed Allah to rewards them all.
Meanwhile, the event which started on Friday with a special Jumat prayer, followed by a walk and medical screening for members and non members alike ended on Sunday December 10, with dignitries from far and near gracing the occasion.
However, the Secretary of the planning committee, Alhaji Ibrahim Adisa urged the awardees to justify the confidence reposed in them.
Alhaji Adisa said “it is an opportunity for you to use your position to better the life of others and promote Islam and also continue to observe your solat and be a good ambassador of the association.
Also, the President of Old Students of Daaru Sahaadat-Wa- Rosheed Taleem, Mr. Tunde Adisa said the old students will continue to support the school and ADASSAN to reach enviable height.
The occasion was shared by Comrade Semiu Adigun, while Sheilk Abdullah Olohunlomerue served as second guest speaker.
