…why humans must live life of legacy

To owe is a state of obligation. To be free from this “bondage”, whatever represents debt in one’s life must be paid for freedom to take over.

The title of the book; ‘You Owe the World A Book’, depicts the facts that every man must have an imprint in life. If this is not achieved, then, one of the purposes of life is deflated. So, the writer, by the title of the book has reminded every reader and the larger society of the debt of a book that must be paid (published) before the clarion for eternity. This is when a man can be adjudged to have “come, saw and conquered.” So, “you owe the world a book” is a reminder of every individual’s obligation to life and as a tool for fulfillment about the expectancies of life. “A book” is naturally a symbolic hormone, a requirement, a condition, a responsibility that must be met for a complete process of life. Without, the author has reminded every reader that his living is dysfunctional. “There is a book in you”, make yourself functional, relevant and accomplished.

“One language sets you in a corridor for life”, said Frank Smith. So, the use of language by Chinyere Ezeigwe has set every reader at a corridor of life and the contest has started. The language used are proverbial and appreciatively allegorical. Little will I wonder if the writer of this book who is just forty is an offspring of China Achebe or Ernest Okonkwo who were writers with unrivalled styles that have made life a discovery for man.

Asides, the traditional and proverbial use of language to explain the theories of life, the simplicity in her choice of words is a laxative to the reader. She has interpreted the inconstancies of life and how to cushion the effects of it.

Chapterisation in the said life discovery text has also interpreted different facets of life and the steps to take that will elixir every situation. The conclusion of the book reads thus: “the world needs to hear your voice”, else, you are voiceless, a failure, an unaccomplished that never left an imprint in life. Each of the chapters was segmentalised and every reader is made to have an exploration of discovery of oneself in the voyage of life. Not only physical life but also the spiritual life of man was addressed in page seven (7), social life in page nine (9), psychological in page eleven (11) and emotional in page twelve (12). These are germane aspects of humanities.

Life itself is in faces and every face has a challenge glued to it, but from the sub- sections quoted, some bottles neck of life has been addressed.
