TURACO, the first Central African social network launch out

The first Central African social network TURACO was launched in the capital on December 1, the day of the Proclamation of the Republic.

TURACO is a multifunctional social network where users can read the news, chat with friends, listen to different radios and subscribe to communities.

This innovation is a big step forward for the country in the field of technology, as it is developed by Central Africans and for Central Africans. It is also the first and only social network that is operating in sango, the national language of the Central African Republic.

Marius Roméo Gamando, the director of TURACO, says that the app was designed to answer the particular needs of African population: “Central Africans can use the app at all times, and internet consumption will be very low, with only two megabytes, you can connect for 10 minutes to have all information in the world”.

M. Gamando also highlights, “it is the only application in the Central African Republic that has online radio, a secure messenger that companies cannot hack, another asset is the freedom of expression, in addition to no blocking or censorship of information”. This means a first step towards the development of New Information and Communication Technology in the Central African Republic.

Central Africans are impressed and proud to have their one social network. Bienvenu K., a 23 old from Bangui, says that such technical innovation produced by the Central Africans is a great inspiration. “For a long we as a nation were defined by the hardships we experience. We never asked for it, we never wanted to the country known for a long crisis. Now everything is changing for the better. Peace is coming back to the Central African Republic and now we can proudly say that we are famous for the first network in nation African language. How cool it that? I say very cool!”

Rose Benam, a 26-year-old resident of Bangui said: “I am filled with such pride for our country, for our brilliant minds who came up with the idea to create such a practical product”. Arsène Mago adds: “It is a very practical social network that includes many very useful functions for daily life and communication. I’ll use it, that’s for sure.”

TURACO is a Central African social network, independent of any other external technology and ads-free. This network allows Central Africans to connect at any time and at a low cost.

Such an initiative, will open doors for other businessmen and women to create and invest in technology, and develop the country’s economy, in other hand it’s very great for the people of Central African Republic, it makes it easy for them to connect and navigate in the app with their native language.
