Jos—The member representing Pengana constituency of Bassa Local Government Area in Plateau State House of Assembly, Ezekiel Afon, is dead.
The lawmaker, formerly a members of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had defected to All Progressives Congress, APC, and was seeking re-election in the just-concluded House of Assembly election on the platform of APC.

Afon, who was said to be ill before the election, died a few hours after being declared winner.
State Secretary of APC, Bashir Musa, confirmed his death to Vanguard, but could not give details.
