It was a week of blood, sorrow and tears in Benue communities when suspected herdsmen bared their fangs on villagers in Makurdi, Logo and Ukum local government areas of the state, leading to the death of over 22 persons.

When Nigerian pop singer turned pastor, Kas, broke news that he had become a minister of the gospel, tongues wagged with mixed reactions. Some thought it was an awkward decision while others saw it as a right move in the right direction.

A man fighting for his life, or a political party fighting for survival are in no position to fight for anything else. The All Progressives Congress, APC, and its leaders are fighting for dear lives. The last thing they will pursue between now and Election Day 2019 is restructuring.

I take my cue for this write-up from THISDAY newspaper’s lead story of Friday, April 6, 2018 with the banner headline: “Jostling for APC Chairmanship Begins, Oyegun, Oshiomhole, Ebri Emerge Contenders…”   My intervention is not a confirmation of any sort that my boss, Adams Oshiomhole, whom I served as Chief of Staff from 2012 to 2016 when he was in the saddle as governor of Edo state is interested in the position of national chair of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).   On the other hand, it is not a repudiation of his possible interest in the top party position.

The momentum of the 2019 elections are gathering storm and the Nigerian Youth appears set to do political battle with the elderly hegemonic political class who themselves appeared on the leadership saddle many decades   ago but do not seem ready to allow fresh ideas and fresh blood to takeover from them.
