LAGOS—THE Lagos State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Mrs. Lola Akande, has disclosed that steady progress has been made to actualize the present administration’s dream of alleviating poverty and empowering women.
The Commissioner said this during a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Consulate at Guangzhou, China during an entrepreneurial excursion to China for women empowerment recently.
She said significant progress was being made in the area of women empowerment as evident by all the skill acquisition centres in the state functioning optimally, “thereby creating opportunities for thousands of trainees who learn one trade or the other at the centres towards self-reliance.”
Mrs. Akande said: “This is because of Governor Ambode’s interest in the development of women, which has been demonstrated by his contribution and supports for enterprise development and skill acquisition centres that thrive in training citizens.”
Ambassador Wale, while reiterating that enterprise development is the only way out of Nigeria problem, promised to continue to work and support the development of Nigeria.
