Speaking during the commissioning of the concrete landing jetty, Chief Lori-Ogbebor said the commission should “remain a people-based interventionist agency. The commitment to develop the oil and gas bearing com-munities should be total.”

She congratulated DESOPADEC’s Managing Director, Dr. William Makinde, for the timely completion of the jetty, saying her agitation for a better society is beyond ethnic sentiments.

In her words: “The same environmental degradation facing Isoko ethnic nationality is the same confronting Urhobo, Ijaw or Itsekiri ethnic groups; no discrimination.”

Speaking, Makinde said DESOPADEC is poised to do more for oil-bearing communities in a resolve to complete ongoing projects.

He commended Chief Lori-Ogbebor for always speaking truth to power as mother to the state and the Niger Delta region.
