IPDI flays delay in integrating some ex-agitators into Amnesty Programme

By Jimitota Onoyume

WARRI—Ijaw Peoples Development Initiative, IPDI,  has flayed  alleged delay in integrating some ex-agitatorss into  the Federal Government’s Amnesty Programme several years after they  laid down  their arms.

President of the body, Mr Austin Ozobo, in a statement yesterday in Warri, Delta State,  noted that the delay was making the ex- agitators who keyed into the amnesty  programme  since 2011 believe that they were deceived  to embrace peace,  urging the new Coordinator of the Amnesty Programme, Professor Charles  Dokubo, to address the matter.

“Our attention has been drawn to the continued delay in integrating ex-agitators of the third phase into the amnesty programme after embracing the programme. Some of the groups to be integrated are Asam Camp, led by ‘General’ Mighty Man, Forest Soldiers Camp, led by ‘General’ Ogailo Iborry, among others, Ozobo said.
