Entry level smartphones: How Samsung’s mid-range brands spark off competition

Samsung Electronics recently boosted the mid-range smartphone market with the launch of Samsung Galaxy J series, J6 and J4. Since that launch, the company seems to have made a name for itself  as competition  heightens in the entry level segment of the market.

The Galaxy J6 and J4 come in three colours of black, purple and lavender. The Galaxy J series is primed to meet the needs of users who use smart devices in their businesses as well as everyday lives. The J6 and J4 series have similar features with slight variations.

Both devices come with 32GB internal storage space with microSD up to 256GB; they are powered by 3000mAh battery, and run on the latest Android operating system – Android Oreo. With the Ultra Data Saving (UDS) feature, users can surf the internet longer whilst saving data, helping them stay connected for longer periods. While the Galaxy J4 features a 5.5″ HD+ Super AMOLED display, the J6 boasts of a 5.6″ HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity Display.

The  Galaxy J series are imbued with Samsung’s legacy for high-performing cameras with an advanced camera system that generates brighter and clearer images. While the 13-megapixel rear-facing cameras on both Galaxy J4 and J6 enable users take amazing photos, the front-facing 5-megapixel camera on J4 and 8-megapixel on J6 allow users take more stunning selfies.

What is unique and novel about the J6 and J4 series is that they both give users a Dual Messenger capability and enable them separate work messages and personal chats with ease. With Dual Messenger, users can connect to two different chat accounts on favourite messenger apps and simultaneously work with both without disruptions.

Whilst the J6 offers fingerprint scanner and face recognition modes of authentication, both devices come with the Find My Mobile feature. The Find My Mobile service acts as a preventive measure against loss of your smartphone as users can remotely locate their lost devices, back up data stored on the device to Samsung Cloud, lock the screen and even delete all data stored on the device.

Find My Mobile is free, just sign up into your Samsung account and it is automatically enabled. The fingerprint sensor on the J6 placed on the rear side of the device for ease and quicker reach by its users.

In addition to taking crisp pictures, some creative filters could be added to the photographs to make them even more memorable. Both the Galaxy J6 and J4, which also comes with various camera modes, stickers and creative filters help to liven up photos, organise images and videos by theme.
