A Non-Governmental Organisation, Human Development Initiatives (HDI), has pledged to support the campaign on effective quality basic education at the local government level for the development of education in Lagos state.
Executive Director of the organization, Mrs. Olufunso Owasanoye, who disclosed this in Lagos during a sensitization programme lauded the Federal Government’s decision to declare a state of emergency in the nation’s education sector and bringing all stakeholders together with the aim of turning the sector around for the better
Mrs. Owasanoye said the program was “to sensitize the community, especially educational stakeholders on the monitoring of Lagos Universal Basic Education Board (LUBEB) project in Lagos State for effective quality basic education, enrollment of students, rate of students drop-out, teachers training, ensure discipline and review curriculum. Owasanoye said the inclusion of all stakeholders will not only make the declaration of a state of emergency in the state’s education sector effective, but will also help it achieve desired results.
