Beloved, one thing in common with those desiring to be in heaven at the end of this life is the ability to endure till the end the thorny road to heaven without murmuring and complaining.

This is because all heavenly candidates are expected among other things to be emo-tionally and spiritually okay in order to endure the expected persecution.

All who cleave to godly life in any given generation must endure persecution for God’s design for them is that persecution and affliction will keep them on their toes to guide them toward depending upon God throughout their earthly sojourns and thereafter gain a crown of glory if they endure to the end. Job was a good example of those that endured to the end.

Job 1:13-22 states, “And there was a day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house: And there came a messenger unto Job, and said, “The oxen were plowing, and the asses feeding beside them: And the Sabeans fell upon them, and took them away; yea, they have slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The fire of God is fallen from heaven, and hath burned up the sheep, and the servants, and consumed them; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

While he was yet speaking, there came also another, and said, The Chald-eans made out three bands, and fell upon the camels, and have carried them away, yea, and slain the servants with the edge of the sword; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee. While he was yet speaking, the-re came also another, and said, Thy sons and thy daughters were eating and drinking wine in their eldest brother’s house: And, behold, there came a great wind from the wilderness, and smote the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young men, and they are dead; and I only am escaped alone to tell thee.

Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped, And said, Naked came I out of my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return thither: the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.”

As the godly go through the school of endurance on earth they become dead to persecut-ion and trial and by it learn not to speak anything against God believing that no matter the situation the Lord will see them through. They are those that have resolved to suffer trials and afflictions and yet remain steadfast in the Lord. No matt-er the delay in marriage, pover-ty, no matter the provocation and intimidation at the place of work, their resolve is that the will of God must be done. Pro-blems may come but as one who has earned degree in the school of endurance, it will not break him.

The problem why many fail trial of persecution is because they have not declared their allegian-ce totally to God and say:- Here I am send me. I want to let you understand that, any day you learn endurance new things will begin to happen in your life, God will take over your matter, and you will not blame Him because you are sure He is using the sit-uation to perfect you and take you to glory. And if what you are looking for will take you out of the way He will delay it and expect you to endure.

Job was a good student of the school of endurance and he gave a good account of himself.
