APC crisis regrettable—Udeogaranya

A chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC, and a presidential aspirant of the party, Chief Charles Udo Udeogaranya has expressed regret over the current crisis engulfying the party, saying it reveals a high level of inexperience in managing party affairs.

Speaking with Vanguard yesterday, Udeogaranya  said: “It is regrettable for my party to choose the option of going to court in settling what passes the eyes as a mere  storm  in a teacup, which reveals a high level of inexperience in managing party affairs.

“As a former party chairman, you must reflect the understanding that everyone is important in all party dealings and not just Mr. President , particularly in an electioneering year, because election is a game of numbers.

“Party members who are in disagreement have cogent argument in the sense that the party constitution directed that election must be democratic in order for it to be binding on all members.”

According to him,”when you called for yes voice vote and failed to give same opportunity to dissenting no voice vote, then it is no longer democratic, despite the typographic error in the constitution that stipulated yes or no, instead of Yes and No.

“Democratic behaviour demands equal opportunity, privilege and incentives to all, translating that what was done for the majority, must also be done to the perceived minority in order to make it democratic.”
