The wisdom of the wise (1)

Beloved, it is only those whom the Spirit of God has enlightened that will understand that wisdom is all about the knowledge of the truth and its application. A man without true wisdom is like one without destination, for every road looks like it leads to his destination.

Wisdom is therefore like a compass that guides us to our expected end. That is why every believer who wants to make it to heaven must desire and take pain to acquire wisdom.

Psalm 4:7 says” “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding”

The Scripture implores us to search out for wisdom and get hold of it for it will be for us a key to open all the treasures of heaven bestowed upon man-kind by God Almighty. All who aspire to live eternally must take more pains to get it than the wealth of the world because it is the principal thing. Men preferring the wealth of this world than true wisdom show the blindness of their heart. Every child of God should de-sire to have true wisdom that matters now and for eternity. Many people who are making do with the wisdom of this wor-ld are bidding for destruct-ion of which the wisdom of this world will eventually lead them to.

I Corinthians 1:20-21 says, “Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.

Apostle Paul describes as valueless the wisdom people seek from the world. He made us to understand that any wisdom that is not promoting the gospel, glorifying our Lord Jesus Christ and also present-ing heaven as our ultimate goal is foolishness. It is by the know-ledge of this wisdom that our salvation is guaranteed.

This is because the wisdom which asc-ertained the way in which man could be saved came from above, from God Almighty who in His infinite wisdom devised a plan which has baffled hitherto the wisdom of all the wise men in the world. God has demonstrated the superiority of the efficacy of His wisdom by putting in place a plan to save mankind. And it will be foolishness on anybody’s part if he/she ignores this wisdom from above but choose to give ear to the wisdom of the world, because there is no other way of salvation except through this wisdom and the neglect of this will be followed by certain destruction.

Many people following the wis-dom of the world have forsaken the Lord and salvation, many have no more fear of God and are living their lives the way they like in isolation with the Alm-ighty God. Many do not think they will leave this world one day, as a result they are not preparing for life beyond this world, what matters so much to them is the world and its glory. The things of the world look wonderful to them and they consider any other thing as being valueless.

Many who claim to be believers are still being fascinated by the glory of this world even as they lay claim to be born again. But the Bible made it very clear that no matter what you are giving your life over to, you must unders-tand that the only enduring wis-dom is the one that offers sal-vation to mankind—Salvation from everlasting burnings and unending ruin, and if the wisdom that offers this salvation is ne-glected then the danger of eternal punishment will hang over such people.
