Court orders substituted service against Obiorah over N2bn suit by Anosike brothers

Abuja—A Federal Capital Territory, FCT, High Court, has ordered that a substituted service be served on a former lawmaker Senator Ikechukwu Obiorah over a N2 billion suit filed against him by the Chairman of Folio Communications Limited (Publishers of Daily Times of Nigeria) Mr. Fidelis Anosike and the Group Managing Director of the company, Noel Anosike.

The court presided over by Justice Y. Halilu, gave the order after hearing the application contained in SUIT NO: CV/1030/18 and Motion No: M/4102/18 instituted by the Anosike brothers against Ikechukwu Obiorah at the Jabi Judicial Division of the FCT High Court.

Also joined in the suit are the Inspector General of Police and Deputy Inspector General of Police Force Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Division (FCIID) Hyacinth M. Dagala.

According to the court the suit is by Motion Ex-parte dated and filed on the 20th day of March, 2018 together with affidavit in support duly deposed by Joy Zachary, a Litigation Secretary at the Law Partners, the Law Firm where V.O. Odjenu of Counsel to the Applicants in this suit praying seeking the prayers.

After hearing Counsel to the Applicants, Egbet Nathaniel Esq, the Hon. Justice Halilu ruled as follows: “Leave is hereby granted to the Applicants to serve the Originating Motion and all other court processes in this suit on the 1st Respondent via substituted means; by pasting same on his last known address; No.3 William Tolbert Close, Asokoro, Abuja.”

The substantive matter was adjourned to the 26th of April 2018 for hearing.
