ABEOKUTA—Two female passengers lost their lives, while seven others were injured when the chassis of a commercial bus they were travelling in reportedly broke.

Vanguard gathered that five others escaped unhurt in  the  vehicle that was travelling from Abeokuta to Ijebu Ode.

The vehicle, number plates KSF 347 XG,  was conveying 14 passengers along the Abeokuta-Siun-Kobape Expressway when the incident occurred.

The Public Relations Officer, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, said six males and eight females were in the bus.

Akinbiyi added that the injured passengers were taken to General Hospital, Owode, while the dead are at Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, Ogun State.
