‘Nanna Olomu stage  play will open up Warri Kingdom’

All is set for the command performance of ‘Nanna Olomu’, a play produced and directed by award-winning filmmaker, Alex Eyengho,holding this evening at the prestigious Brownhill Events Centre, Ogunu, Warri, Delta State.

According to Eyengho, the play is part of the official activities marking the second anniversary of the coronation of His Majesty, Ogiame Ikenwoli as the 20th Olu of Warri. “Nanna Olomu was one of the many legends from Africa who fought British imperialism. As the last Governor of the Benin River, he was a great leader of his people. We have to keep telling the stories of these African heroes with a view to deepening our brand as Africans.”

“It is also to open up the over 560 years Warri Kingdom more for people to have a deeper knowledge of the history, culture and tradition of the Itsekiri of Warri Kingdom,” Eyengho stated.

Featuring the likes of Nobert Young, Efe Mayford, Raphael-Niyi Stevens, Matel Alex-Eyengho, Bongolipso, Toju, Stephen, Haji B, Solbifaa among others, the  play is bound to reunite the Itsekiri people with their past.
