LAGOS—Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, said that leadership training will help retain and maximise the capacities of people in organisations, such as the Lagos State Public Service.
The governor, who stated this yesterday while addressing selected group of Directors from the Lagos State Service undergoing leadership training in Ikeja.
Mr Ambode who was represented by the State Commissioner of Establishments, Training and Pensions, Dr. Akintola Oke, said that: “Leadership training help to nurture future leaders and organisations need to strategise on developing and nurturing future leaders. Without strategy, leadership roles are often given to the most forward candidates with dominant personalities.”
He told the participants mostly directors from ministries of Lagos State Public Service that leadership training can also help individual leaders develop their own personal leadership style that their team members will best respond to.
Dr. Oke advised the directors to bring the benefits of transformation leadership, productive work ethnics, and innovativeness to provide stability, inspiration, courage and direction during time of crisis.
