FG to enroll corps members into NHIS – NYSC D-G

President Mohammadu Buhari said the Federal Government has approved that all members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, should be enrolled in the National Health Insurance Scheme , NHIS.

The Director General of the NYSC, Brig-Gen. Suleiman Kazuaure made this known today while addressing the corps members at the Osun NYSC permanent orientation camp in Ede.

General Kazaure said he received a call on Wednesday night that the president had approved the enrolment of all NYSC members into the NHIS programme.

His words: “Let me inform you, the president has approved the enrolment of all corps members into the National Health Insurance Scheme.

“Infact I was impress when they called me last night that very soon, they will finish with the whole process. I am sure that by next week, everything would be okey.” he said

The DG also use the opportunity to advise and preach unity to the corps members, saying Nigerians must all live in unity.

He told the corps members to be agents of change where ever they found themselves, tasking them need to be agents of change and make impact where ever they get posted to for their primary assignment after leaving the camp.

He said the NYSC programme is about integration of Nigeria and therefore task the corps members to stay united as they work as a team during the course of the service year.

He specifically commended the State Cordinator of NYSC Mr Emmanuel Attah
for his personal intervention in renovating the camp and made it habitable without financial support from national headquarters.

In his own remarks Attah explained that it had not been easy keeping things working and running smoothly in the camp, but because of the determination of himself and staff support, they were able to make the camp habitable for the corps members.
