Christmas is here again! It’s time to make everything around us beautiful as the time also ushers in the New Year. For many Homemakers, it’s time to display their talents in decorations to make everywhere beautiful no matter how small the budget is.

Unfortunately, it’s also a time of burden to some that don’t even have the idea of what to buy and when they do, it is another headache on how to mix colours to get attractive decorations.

The good news is, you don’t need to task your brains too much this year as Homemakers brings to you the trending colours for 2017 Christmas decorations.

But wait, do Christmas trends actually exist?

Yes, they do. They are kind of dictated a little bit by fashion. This year, we are seeing trends such as all white. Beautiful layers of crisp white, all in different textures. This does not mean that the traditional decorations will be totally out of fashion but the green, red and gold is toned down a little.

You can get a Christmas tree that has touch of white but, if you want to make do with the all green Christmas tree you have at home, you may use real crystal or a more affordable crystal style decoration, depending on your budget. Mass decoration looks beautiful if you can do it by really filling the tree.

Crystal-covered tree may be stretching the budget and, because we believe Christmas decorations don’t have to be too expensive, you may want to embrace the old red, green and gold but do not overdo it; tone it back a little bit with white snowflakes, crystals or white ribbons.

You may also buy ornaments that are predominantly white or crystal. Your wreath too can be decorated with white ornaments mixed with few traditional red and green colours.

You can bring your Christmas décor into the 21st Century by adding modern Christmas glamour. You may want to get metallic tree and decorate with crystals and touch of golden baubles which is a big step toward embracing a modern colour palette

If you are not going for Christmas tree, buy some Christmas droppings that are white or crystal and drop a few red, green and gold traditional colours in-between.
